Bees the size of dogs, each marked with a blazing sigil. They don't buzz, but sing in plainsong. The thrashing of their wings is the drumbeat of apocalypse, and people flee in panic from their mighty stingers. Their plainsong drowns lamentation, and the fury and the mind. The chorister swarm takes the lyrics of poets yet unwritten; the unsung songs from lips now forever silent. It is only iron and fire that quietens the voice of carnage.
