Tarazak was a rich and selfish baron who was cursed by the local river gods for pollutive activities under his supervision. As a result, he was cursed to take this hideous appearance of a frog. Formerly human, Tarazak took great pains to hide his change. He paid great sums for powerful and knowledgeable wizards and clerics to have them heal him and restore his form. However, it was no simple task to undo such a divine curse.
