Hitman

A hitman is someone who is either so far gone from their previous selves or just enjoys the work enough to kill people for money. How might your character have gotten into this kind of work? Is he or she willingly in this line or forcefully? Are there any jobs that your character might regret taking for various reasons? What type of reputation in the crime world does your character have? Is he or she feared, respected, or even hated?
Skill Proficiencies: Stealth, Perception and firearms
Tool Proficiencies: Disguise kit, Thieves' tools
Languages: None
Equipment: 2 hand crossbows or 1 heavy crossbow, leather armor, thieve's tools, a hooded cloak, a set of common clothes, and a belt pouch with 15 gold.

Feature: Contract Killing

Your character kills people for money and generally has taken a few jobs before the start of the game. In places where crime is heavy such as a larger city your character should be able to find a job or a contract to complete for local crime bosses or people just willing to pay to have someone else killed.

Suggested Characteristics

Personality Traits (d8)

1My years of killing have made me cold and distant to those around me.
2I take pride in what I do and brag about my exploits to those I trust not to tell.
3Money is king, it is the only thing worth killing for.
4My time spent with the wrong crowd has made me untrusting to new people.
5I am wary of those who also kill because if they are like me, I know what they are capable of.
6If someone is in the way of me completing a job it's on them, not me.
7I am quick to violence because in my line of work that is usually how it ends up. Might as well not stand around arguing first.
8I will break your jaw if you start to annoy me.

Ideals (d6)

1In this business reputation is key and I've got to keep mine. (Any)
2I want to be not only the best option for those looking to hire but the only option. (Evil)
3If you are not willing to do what it takes to get the job done, don't do it. (Any)
4There are a thousand men to do the job. I want to be top of the list, however possible. (Chaotic)
5I only take the jobs I need to survive. There is no purpose in senseless killing. (Good)
6I only kill the bad ones. I won't kill an honorable man. (Good)

Bonds (d6)

1Once while on a job I killed the wrong man. That mistake still haunts me today.
2When I do a job I have to do it with my specific calling card or else I consider it a failure.
3Snitches get stitches. I learned that the hard way.
4I take a trophy from every job to remind me of what I have done.
5There was a man in my youth who taught me everything I know. He was my first contract.
6I never kill children. Everyone has a line and that is mine.

Flaws (d6)

1All of this killing and doing it myself has made me not work well with others.
2I must complete the job at all costs. No exceptions.
3I close myself off when anything about my work or my past is mentioned for fear someone will use it against me.
4I always assume everyone of stature in the room knows of my exploits.
5I always assume that everyone is looking to hire.
6My one fear is the law and I don't think I would hold up if I was questioned by them.
