Stoneborn are created from humanoids exposed to the power of elemental earth through the magic of evil spellcasters. Their skin hardens, their faces are transformed to resemble ornate stone masks and when they are injured, soil spills out instead of blood. Stoneborn are patient and stoic, rarely, if ever, showing any kind of emotion, though they are absolutely loyal to their creators and can never be tempted or bribed into betrayal.
