The stem and roots are like those of kudzu, having various "feet" with which it sticks and hangs on various surfaces as it grows and seeds. It is a parasitic plant that grows off the roots of trees resembling mangroves or moist stalactites. They grow in numerous clusters and activate their defensive spitting mechanisms by detecting heat.
