Mim-like
What looks like a chest or door at first glance and a mimic at second glance might actually be a mim-like; when small, burrowing, humanoids began to dig into ruins, beholder lairs, and dragon dens, they needed to adapt and decided to copy one of the most successful species in the new habitat: the mimic. Mim-likes grew tough but adhesive shells that they could attach scraps of wood or metal to in order to gain the appearance of normal objects. Appearance.
