Warforged

You are a construct forged for a purpose: Battle. Whether you embrace your destiny or seek to rid yourself of the shackles of those who created you, you are an adventurer now. When creating your warforged character, think about how they came to be in the situation they are in now. Why are you here? Where is your creator or creators now? What do you see your role being in the adventures that lie ahead?
Skill Proficiencies: Athletics, Intimidation
Tool Proficiencies: Warforged repair kit, plus one of the following: Jewelers tools, Masons tools, Smiths tools, or Tinkers tools
Languages: None
Equipment: A Warforged repair kit (inc. spare parts, hammer, nails, bolts, screws, etc), a dungeoneer's pack, 10 days of rations (oil).

Feature: Valuable Technology

Due to the nature of who you are, you are seen as a valuable piece of technology, rather than a sentient being. People who see you might assume you belong to a fellow party member or that you work for a local business in town. Some people might even attempt to steal you and sell you off to the highest bidder or return you to your maker if possible.

Suggested Characteristics

Personality Traits (d8)

1Communicating with me is difficult, since I exhibit little to no facial expression.
2I find myself confused when people hug.
3I'm always polite and respectful.
4I'm haunted by memories of war. I can't get the images of violence out of my mind.
5I enjoy being strong and like breaking things.
6I face problems head on. A simple, direct solution is the best path to success.
7I'm full of inspiring and cautionary tales from my military experience relevant to almost every combat situation.
8I struggle to form a sense of identity and seek to reconcile my self-awareness and my artifice.

Ideals (d6)

1Greater Good. Our lot is to lay down our lives in defence of others. (Good)
2Responsibility. I do what I must and obey just authority. (Lawful)
3Independence. I must prove that I can chose my own path and do not need to be babysat by my creator. (Chaotic)
4Might. In life as in war, the stronger force wins. (Evil)
5Sincerity. There's no good pretending to be something I'm not. (Neutral)
6Glory. I must win glory in battle. (Any)

Bonds (d6)

1My honour is my life.
2I'll never forget the crushing defeat my company suffered or the enemies who dealt it.
3I fight for those who cannot fight for themselves.
4My creator was the only person I felt knew my potential and truly respected me.
5I am seeking a great truth about myself and the nature of life.
6I resent my creator and seek to destroy them.

Flaws (d6)

1There is no room for caution in a life led to the fullest.
2Violence is my answer to almost any challenge.
3Steel is strong, flesh is weak. It is the natural state of evolution that the weak shall perish.
4I follow orders, even if I think they're wrong.
5I have little respect for anyone who is not a proven warrior.
6My hatred of my enemies is blind and unreasoning.
