Soulless

You were someone in this universe, you were a somebody, but after a life-altering event your soul has been taken by force or given away by a stronger power. Now you must learn to live your life without a crucial part of your being.
Skill Proficiencies: Two proficiencies that do not rely on charisma
Tool Proficiencies: One set of artisan's tools, Disguise kit, Poisoner's kit
Languages: None
Equipment: A set of common clothes, a small golden flower, one tool set you are proficient with, and a gold pouch containing 25gp

Feature: Emptiness

Your lack of emotion causes concern in others. People will often accept minor sacrifices to avoid or quickly finish interacting with you, such as lower prices in haggling.

Suggested Characteristics

Personality Traits (d8)

1I find it difficult to concentrate on things that don't interest me.
2I absentmindedly pick things up and don't put them back down.
3I tend to put myself in situations that cause others emotional grief as I forget how fragile a person's heart can be.
4Every once in a while, I will find myself focusing on the emptiness inside as if expecting an answer.
5Studying the body of this vessel, I realized that I just need to replace the void within me with a similar soul. But from whom?
6If souls are the essence of one's being, then I don't need to force myself below the laws of those with a soul. I will do what I need and when I want.
7I have no problem losing those around me. Maybe sentimentality isn't my strong suit.
8Souls are such precious things. Fragile, malleable, and hard to remove. I wish to protect them all if not my own.

Ideals (d6)

1Retribution. I seek another soul to replace the one I lost. (Neutral)
2Destruction. If I can't have a soul, no one else can. (Evil)
3Prevention. I can't let anybody else lose their soul. (Good)
4Acceptance. This is how it is, and I need to just keep moving. (Any)
5Freedom. With no soul, there is no morality to hold me back. (Chaotic)
6Greed. I shall take every soul I find. They are a source of power. (Evil)

Bonds (d6)

1I trust myself and myself alone.
2There is only one person I feel understands me in the world.
3Relationships seem so trivial. I cannot carry the weight of both my own and another's emotions!
4I cannot forgive the thing that took my soul.
5My family left me due to the nature of my condition. I want to find them someday.
6I need nobody. What has no core can suffer neither need nor want.

Flaws (d6)

1I often burst into fits of pity without warning.
2Everyday, I feel the pressure within my body grow stronger, as if the emptiness is spreading.
3I tend to instigate problems and arguments, as my apathy leads me to tactless or callous responses.
4I cannot understand what motivates others' intentions.
5With all of my will, I manage to filter my pain through humor to mask my struggles.
6I have a hard time relating to others and will often ignore those who do not have my interest.
