Feature: Well-Informed

You were born years, decades, perhaps even centuries forwards in the timestream. However, whether due to the influence of a god or a magical mishap, you were sent hurtling into the past- your past - , and now live amongst figures you thought were merely myth and legend. As you were born and raised in said future, your way of life had, or will have to dramatically change. The technology that assisted and entertained you doesn't exist. You're stranded in history, with no seeable way to escape. When making a character of this background, consider what their future looked like. Was magic still widely used, or did it die out and was replaced by Technology? Does magic even exist at all? What kind of races exist? How much do you know about the your past? How accurate was that information? Do you want to get Back to the Future (Trademarked), or are you OK with living in the books? Why did you end up going back, and why would you want to stay / leave? Skill Proficiencies: Medicine, Insight Languages: Two of your choice. Equipment: A set of fine clothes, 10 sheets of parchment, ink and quill, one trinket representative of the future state of the world, and a belt pouch containing currency from your home time equivalent to 10 gp.

Suggested Characteristics

Personality Traits (d8)

1Jokes, exaggeration, sarcasm, figures of speech- I'm oblivious to it all.
2I can't help but constantly talk to everyone I see, constantly- the people here are so strange!
3I'm not fazed by any disaster- I already know how it all ends.
4I often get caught poring over minute, unimportant details- like the design on the stonework of an old building.
5I enjoy quoting scholars and sayings I grew up with- even if these people won't understand it for another century.
6I would rather observe than meddle.
7I fawn over anyone important I meet- if they like me, maybe I'll be mentioned in the history books!
8I constantly make up stories about how famous I am in the future- it's not like they'll know, right?

Ideals (d6)

1Knowledge. We must learn from the past, or we are doomed to repeat it. (Neutral)
2Change. History is still malleable, and should be molded as necessary. (Chaotic)
3Power. My knowledge of the past will let me bend it to my whims. (Evil)
4Benevolence. History may say they suffer, but I have a chance to extend mercy. (Good)
5Order. What has happened, will happen again. Changing history is wrong, I must merely help it along. (Lawful)
6Opportunity. Very few get a chance to experience the past. I should make the most of it. (Any)

Bonds (d6)

1I was sent to the past as a punishment due to crimes I committed in the future.
2I was sent to fix a broken future by changing events for the better.
3Our information on this time period is woefully lacking. I can correct that right now.
4I've been hopping from time to time, and I have no idea how to get back to the future.
5A major event is happening soon, and I want to be able to witness it in person.
6The gods are about to exterminate the universe for our failures. I was given time to show we deserve a second chance.

Flaws (d6)

1I'm far too confident for my own good.
2My fear of disrupting the timeline often leads to indecision.
3I don't need to take responsibility for my actions if I can claim it'd happen anyway.
4I sometimes think my decisions are the only important ones.
5I'll conceal important info because I worry it will disrupt the timestream.
6I accidentally killed someone very important to history. I'm sure it's not THAT big a deal.
